Sustainable development

Sustainable development at FORTISCHEM is based on human resources, our employees and three basic pillars:

Environment

encompasses the GREEN COOPERATION programme and all our activities that reduce our environmental impact and help us to use resources efficiently, whether it is the use of state-of-the-art technologies, the development of environmentally friendly products, or even activities towards the environment, in the area of purchasing or waste management.

Company

relates to our immediate surroundings, the city of Nováky, and to the public. Our goal is that FORTISCHEM, despite the proximity of our premises to the city centre, will be positively perceived as a good, beneficial, trustworthy and safe neighbour.

Economics

focuses on strengthening the economic situation of FORTISCHEM, increasing profits and strengthening our position on the market and deepening customer relations. Quality is also part of customer relations.

Our concept of sustainability includes working closely with employees, suppliers and other business partners, who we encourage and motivate to follow similar sustainability principles. Health and safety is an equally important priority.

EcoVadis

In 2024, our company FORTISCHEM a. s. was awarded a silver medal from the internationally recognized platform, EcoVadis, for sustainability and corporate social responsibility. In the evaluation, we achieved a score of 87%. This result places us among the top 15% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the past 12 months. EcoVadis evaluates over 85,000 companies worldwide and includes 21 sustainability criteria across four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement and public tendering. The requirements are continuously updated and become more stringent for the evaluated organizations. FORTISCHEM a. s. is included in the EcoVadis evaluation under the category of manufacturing basic chemicals, fertilizers and nitrogen compounds, plastics, and synthetic rubber. We obtained the EcoVadis certificate based on an assessment of sustainable business practices by EcoVadis, a tool founded on international standards, the fundamental principles of the UN Global Compact, requirements of the International Labour Organization (ILO), standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and the ISO 26000 standard. This is an ongoing process of evaluation and improvement in line with our future plans.

We believe that for future sustainable development it is important to prevent damage to nature and human health in a preventive, systematic and effective way and to develop modern and environmentally friendly technologies.
